Consignor Price Reduction - GFRC is pleased to be offering not one but two 1892-CC $10 gold pieces, both with CAC approval. This Christian Gobrecht design was minted from 1838 to 1907 with the Carson City issue being popular among a wide of collectors. Only 40,000 were struck with the typical surviving grade being between EF45 and AU53. The second of the two examples is this AU55 certified lot with steely-frosted luster and moderate cartwheels. Coloration is a natural green-gold while the strike is nicely executed on both sides. A few micro-ticks are noted but nothing of any consequence. When handling larger U.S. gold, one must not experience pristine surfaces given the soft metal properties. The CAC price guide stands at $4,900 with 15 approved at the offered grade. Housed in NGC Gen 17 (2004-2008) holder with CAC approval.
