Steely, reflective Mint bloom radiates from the recessed areas of this lower-mintage Philadelphia example, while both sides exhibit even yellow-gold color. The overall eye appeal is terrific, and we expect significant interest in this GFRC Gem-rated example. The CAC population is remarkably low, a fact not yet fully appreciated by the market. The CAC census notes only 27 pieces in all grades, with eight coins in AU50 and only a single piece finer, in MS62. The CAC price guide value is $3,000, though we consider this example superior to the PCGS AU58 CAC Fairmont coin (Stack's Bowers April 2022, lot 5054, realized $4,560).
