New January 20! Ahwash Plate Coin, Bisecting Reverse Die Crack, Faint Reverse Porosity, Gerry Fortin Reference Collection. The Kam Ahwash A-5 plate coin from his pioneering into Liberty Seated dime varieties with his tome releasing my wild collecting animal instincts during 1989. I was hooked line and sinker. This dime is yet another piece to be tracked via Stacks to the October 1990 Alan Lovejoy Sale. Lovejoy acquired this dime from Ahwash privately on December 1979. This dime is not perfect and will not grade. This is no question of a past dip with some faint rim porosity at reverse rim 3:00. The fields are reflective. F-106a, with two diagonal die scratches on the left side of the shield as the primary diagnostic. During the F-106a die state, the reverse develops a bisecting vertical die crack which starts at STA(T)ES and proceeds downward through O(N)E DI(M)E, crosses through the bow knot and exits to the rim below the right ribbon end. Purchased April 1992 via Stacks Coin Galleries mail bid sale. December 1969
