A marvelous 1839-O dime, fully original and lustrous with Fortin and Greer plate coin pedigrees for their respective references. This dime has a long pedigree including R.L.Miles Stacks auction April 1969, Alan Lovejoy Sales (Stacks) October 1990, and Stack catalog sale October 1991 where it was purchased by Fortin. Listed by Kam Ahwash as A-2. F-102 is a later die state of the F-101 obverse die when paired with a second Small O reverse die. The obverse exhibits a fairly continuous die crack originating from left and right sides of the base up through the rock and meeting at the shield. The mintmark on the F-102 reverse B is positioned further right than on F-101 Reverse A. Ships in its original cardboard 2x2 holder with Fortin notes.
