Date Rarity, Choice Original Surfaces, Crusty Olive-Gray and Rose Patina, Blemish Free, Accurately Graded. There are no official mint records indicating that Capped Bust quarters were struck during 1824. However, series specialist believe that 16,000 pieces delivered on December 31, 1823 were dated 1824. This choice original example is one of those 16,000 strikes that managed to survive with well preserved surfaces. Actually, this piece screams originality with it crusty gray-olive patina along with embedded rose coloring during bright light viewing. Surfaces are entirely blemish free and a pleasure to view with 10x loupe. Strike is typical for open collar production era. Accurately graded and housed in 2015 style PCGS holder with edge view insert. CAC approval validates the strictly originality on this key date specimen. A significant Capped Bust quarter offering that deserves a place in an advanced collection.
