Description: Estes launched the Stiletto model rocket kit #1323 in the 1979 catalog with follow on appearances in the 1980 through 1983 catalogs. The 1980 to 1983 version kits feature a black paper hang tag and skill level facecard packaging combination. The Stilleto facecard is Version 2 with the rocket launch sequence in the background.

Hang Tag (Header Card) Guide

The Stilleto is a skill level 2 scale like surface to air interceptor missile with realistic military decals. It is powered with traditional 18mm engines and safely returns with a 12" parachute. Based on the kit's specifications, it does suggest that the Stilleto is a reasonable sports rocket with B or C engines.

Kit Contents: The kit features a main body tube, plastic nose cone, plastic display nozzle, 18 mm engine mount kit, a die cut balsa sheet, wood strip for fairings, two multi color decal sheets, 12" parachute, launch lug and instruction sheet.

Availability: I consider this kit to be moderately scarce and desireable. The earlier 1979 kit with a Version 3 pink skill level hang tag and "New" emblem on the facecard is considered to be more difficult to locate than those with the black paper hang tag.
