Love Tokens are a natural progression for Liberty Seated coinage collections; especially those that collect Liberty Seated Dimes and Quarters. Both denomination were popular targets for Victorian era jewelry makers. The love token collector's challenge is locating highly detailed picturesque designs and/or enameled designs or love tokens made on larger denominations, gold pieces or international coinage. Some love tokens have historical significant as commemorating a special civil or family event. The Love Token Society website is an excellent information resource for acquiring insight on artistically altered coinage in the United States and Europe.

I strive to locate nice problem free love tokens with bold engravings and original gray surface patina when possible. Whether you are collecting 19th century silver coins or love tokens, surface preservation is important! Try to collect pieces with natural gray surfaces and no marks or scratches. Locating these types of pieces will enhance the appearance and resale value of your ultimate collection. For example, the above 1877 Liberty Seated Quarter love token sports that crusty original toning that advanced collectors seek. I am proud when able to offer this level of quality at a reasonable price.
