Comments: Only one die pair is known for 1860 New Orleans dimes. Obverse is Type I, see the 1861 variety page for an explanation of diagnostic differences between Type I versus Type II obverse dies.

1860-O dimes are frequently located with problems, many being porous or rough from metal detector finds at Civil War battle sites. Locating an 1860-O with original and problem surfaces will take considerable searching and patience.
