Comments: Attributing 1881 seated dimes as to the Obverse 1 or Obverse 2 varieties can be difficult and will require patience. One must carefully use the Denticle Ruler method to locate the position of the 1 digit with respect to the denticles below. Note that Obverse 1 has a Denticle Ruler measurement of DR 0C and a completely broken (S)TATES. Use the position of the second 8 digit in the date with respect to the pendant as an additional confirmation point.
