$900 		Rich Satiny Luster, Choice Original, Well Struck, Newtown Collection. Satiny luster, typical of San Francisco halves for this period, radiates from the surfaces of this Civil War-dated half dollar. Both sides are brilliant with hints of gold and russet in the stars and reverse legend. This piece is nicely struck with above average delineation in the eagle feathers. The WB-4 variety is identified by the low date and broken-S mintmark. This issue is tougher than it might first appear, indeed, CAC has certified only nine pieces in all MS grades combined.
