 Gem $7500 Proof Dies, Gem Original, Newtown Collection. Steely, frosted luster imparts exceptionally active cartwheels that rotate vibrantly under a light source. Light splashes of maroon patina cover both sides atop the steel-gray fields, and the eye appeal is stunning. One is tempted to introduce a "Gem Plus" level to the GFRC rating system, but we'd prefer to simply let the coin speak for itself. F-110a, with a slight upward slope in the date. The reverse legend, which might appear sharp at first glance, is actually less lightly impressed than other 1841 dimes, which tend to exhibit deep relief in this portion of the design. CAC has approved 41 pieces in all grades; this piece is tied with two other coins for finest-known at MS66. The CAC price guide value is $7,500. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval.
