 Gem $3250 Extra 9 in Gown, Gem Original, Cleveland Collection.. The Cleveland Collection is releasing this 1859 F-103 gem Seated Dime that originated from the Fortin core set collection during November 2022. It is an excellent example of a With Stars misplaced date. The bottom loop of the extra 9 digit in the gown was evident in Kam Ahwash's Encyclopedia for 14 years until Fortin discovered its existence during 1991. This is a popular variety that is listed as #46 in the Top 100 Varieties set and also included in the Top 25 Misplaced Date set. Let's get back to the offered example. Crusty coin-gray patina covers both side of this gem along with speckled ebony-gray at the stars and legend. Strike is complete with elevated motifs, especially the reverse wreath leaves. Surfaces are entirely unabraded. Purchased by Fortin during February 2007 from Jason Carter and employed as the F-103 plate coin with The Definitive Resource for Liberty Seated Dime Variety Collectors online reference. Housed in NGC Gen 17 (2004-2008) holder with CAC approval.
