Mottled gray shades and light gold hues grace the obverse of this 1837 Small Date dime while the reverse toning is limited to peripheral gold. Brilliant, frosted luster is predominant under a bright light with light rub on the high points. Fully struck as is typical for the initial year of No Stars Philadelphia dime production. Light chatter in the right obverse field precludes are higher quality rating. F-103 with 7 digit point between two denticles and the reverse rotated left 5 degrees. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2025) holder. PCGS #4562. December 1969
