 Choice $6400 New April 10! Choice Mint State, Satiny Luster, Pristine Surfaces, New Orleans Collection. Consignor Price Reduction. 1838 brought the initial year of Liberty Seated dime production in New Orleans. A single obverse was paired with two reverse dies. This New Orleans Collection release was struck with the F-102 die pairing while the obverse moved into a later die state. Satiny luster originates from faint "orange peel" textured fields while the reverse provides frosted reflectance. Toning is a typical light gold with rose hues under a bright light. Surfaces are well preserved and really pristine. Luster is the grade limiter though the eye appeal will satisfy critical collectors. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder.
