Consignor Price Reduction - The 1871 San Francisco quarter issue recorded a low mintage of 30,900 with the bulk entering circulation in the western mining communities. This is yet another case where present day collectors clamor for higher grades with the supply being smaller than current demand. The best piece that our consignor could locate for his complete Seated quarter set is this Fine 12 example. An evenly worn piece with pewter-gray centers and darker shades surrounding the stars and legend lettering. The surfaces are nicely preserved given the extended time in circulation.
