Original $9995 New March 17! Rare Carson City Date, Rose-Gray Patina, Nicely Preserved. Consignor Price Reduction - The 1872 Carson City Seated quarter is a rarity in any grade and worthy of serious consideration when examples arrive to market. GFRC is pleased to be offering a mid-grade example from a complete collection that is being actively dispersed. This attractive quarter features rose-gray patina on both sides. The center obverse is well defined with typically flat stars at the borders. A heavy die scratch runs from the base of the rock at a 45 degree angle into the shield and across stripes 5 through 8. According to Dave Bowers' A Guide Book of Liberty Seated Silver Coins (2016), delivery figures for the 1872-CC quarter include 8,000 coins on February 29, 5,750 on March 30, 5,100 on September 27, and 4,000 on December 31 for a total of 22,850 pieces. An infrequent opportunity for Liberty Seated quarter specialists to make a significant upgrade. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2024) holder.
