$385 		GFRC-Lite, Small Thin S, Faint Gold Patina, Bold Strike, Dallas Collection. Mintage for the 1868-S Seated dime date amounted to 260,000 from a single die pair. Those dies were eroded at end of life which presents collectors with a wide range of die states. This date is sometimes seen with a convex obverse resulting in rapid wear of the central obverse devices. This former Dallas Collection example is well struck with middle die state die erosion at the peripheries. Faint gold is seen under angled lighting. Previously sold by GFRC during June 2022 with the prior sales record in the Sales Archive for curious minds. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.5 (2012-2013) holder. December 1969
