$595 		First Rate Eye Appeal, Steely Luster, Bold Strike, Choice Surfaces. One of the nicer 1838 Reeded Edge halves that I've had the pleasure of handling. Reddish-gray centers are pleasantly framed by peripheral blues. Under a bright light, the steely fields radiates ample reflective luster with the in-hand coloration being lighter and more transparent. There is one faint contact mark at Liberty's ear otherwise, this is an unabraded example. The obverse strike is 100% complete while the reverse denomination is just a touch weak. A beautiful coin that is fairly priced. A 2025 Winter FUN show buyback! Housed in NGC Gen 5 (1992-1995) Fatty hologram holder with the reverse hologram being partial. December 1969
