$1200 		New August 23! Scarce at Grade, Near-Gem Original, Massachusetts Collection.. The 1849 Seated dime issue continues to lack respect similar to the prior 1847 and 1848 Philadelphia date. This example has typical satiny surfaces with a hint of light gold on the obverse. While the obverse exhibits satiny texture, the reverse is frosty with vibrant cartwheels. A full strike is evident with complete head details and bold star center points while the reverse has fully detailed wreath leaves other than a spot at 10:00 which is typical for the F-101 die pairing. Surfaces are essentially blemish free with only one obverse tick by star 3. This auction offering marks the third time that GFRC offers this near-gem specimen. The CAC census is a meager 25 pieces eight finer and a price guide value at $1050. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2025) holder with Bender Collection pedigree listed on the insert. Ex.
