 Gem $2400 New April 14! Low Mintage Circulation Strike, Partially Mirrored, Gem Original, Sheffield Collection. Three die pairs were employed for the 1880 Philadelphia dime issue, only two of which were used for circulation strikes. The F-102 die pairing can be located as a proof strike followed by the F-102a circulation strike as is the case with this Sheffield Collection offering. Since the dies were reused, it is not uncommon to see partially mirrored fields for well preserved F-102a survivors. This example radiates mirrored reflectance that is not impeded by the orange-rose patination. Accurately graded with unquestionably originality. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.6 (20013-2014) holder with CAC approval.
