Comments: Proof coinage struck with the Obverse 1 and Reverse A dies occurred after the die pair has been employed for business strikes.

Reverse A has degraded and developed a die crack from the right ribbon end downward to the denticles below the left ribbon end. Interestingly, an attempt was made to tool out the die crack on Reverse A prior or during the proof coinage. By using a side lighting source during the photography of the die crack, the tooled area becomes evident.
