Liberty Seated Coinage Open Registry
Liberty Seated Dimes - Top 100 Die Varieties Sets
Click image to access Gerry Fortin Rare Coins Inventory
The Top 100 Varieties set is a noble challenge for the experienced Seated dime collector. The set features a host of repunched dates, shattered dies, misplaced dates and important die marriages. Many varieties including the 1839 Pie Shaped Shattered Obverse, the 1841-O Large Closed Bud Reverse and the Small O Closed Bud Reverse are elusive in all but the lower circulated grades. Locating an 1874 Polished Arrows specimen will be extremely challenging as few are known. The Top 100 set objective will take considerable patience and diligent searching years across many years to complete.
Seated Dime variety collectors are encourage to submit their holdings via this open registry approach. The Open Registry accepts dimes whether Third Party Grading (TPG) certified or in raw condition with the owner's grading and is structured for competitive display of Top 100 Varieties collections.
It is important that collectors carefully study their Liberty Seated dimes and ensure proper variety attributions before submitting. The Liberty Seated dime web-book module at www.seateddimevarieties.com provides sufficient attribution information via this web-book link.
The Top 100 Varieties input form can be downloaded at the following link; Microsoft Excel Form. Please email your completed input forms to Wuximems@hotmail.com. Your updates will enter a first in and first out queue and will do best to support Gerry Fortin Rare Coin customers with quick responses. Participants are encourage to provide links to online image posting website like www.SmugMug.com.

Set Rating: The grade of each coin is mutiplied by the "rarity factor", then summed and divided by the total of all "rarity factors" for a completed set.
%
: The ratio of coins certified by CAC whether green or gold sticker. The calculate is total number of CAC coins divided by number of entered coins in the respective set.
Rarity Factor: The rarity assessment for each Top 100 Variety based on a scale of 1 through 10 with a 1 weight being the most common while a 10 weight being the most difficult to locate. Please be aware that the weighing factor is not associated with the Sheldon Rarity scale but rather an independent assessment by Gerry Fortin when formulating the set during 2002.
