1841-O
Variety 109a
Obverse 6.2: Filled Die at Liberty's Upper Body, Medium Date, Downward Slope
Reverse I: Small O, [mm Rt,H,TR], Die Crack Rim To AMERIC(A) To Wreath
Obverse 6.2 Reverse I
Obverse Diagnostic Point(s) Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)
Comments: Several example of Variety 109 have been seen where Liberty's head and upper body are poorly struck due to a filled die. Since multiple examples were noted, I've decided to list this anomaly separately for future collector reference.
Reverse I continues to be well struck with die crack from lower wreath through AMERIC(A) then rim. On the plate coin, a faint die crack is also noted from left wreath stem to rim but its significance is not enough to warrant a separate die state designation.
