Description: Facecard is Version 1 skill level series design with pink color designating a skill level 2 kit. Facecard is pink and white color with overlaid static Cherokee-D rocket in white, gray and black colors. The hang tag is black paper style indicative of post 1981 vintage kits. On the skill level facecard, the kit name and attributes are shown with black letters. The lower section of facecard provides kit number, kit specifications and engine recommendations.
The Cherokee-D model rocket is a true D engine sport flyer and a long term hobby favorite. Most kits were probably built rather than saved.
Kit Contents: The Cherokee-D kit contains a balsa nose cone, main body tube, one balsa sheet, 24mm engine mount, 18"parachute, decals, launch lug and instructions.
Availability: Locating this last Cherokee-D version kit with combination black paper hang tag and skill level facecaed with take patience and some luck. I don't believe this kit version is as difficult to locate as the Countdown hang tag version. Only one example was recorded during the 2008 through 2011 eBay tracking timeframe. As a result, I am listing this kit version as moderately rare and expect problem free examples to fetch $150 or more when appearing on eBay. Easiest to locate are kits with combination pink skill level facecard and hang tags.
