Small and Large Knob 6 Date Style Comparisons

Comments: The primary diagnostic point for distinguishing the two date punch styles is the knob shape on the 6 digit. However other confirmation diagnostic points are necessary at times to accurately identify the minor differences in the 6 punches. The first confirmation point is the size of the bottom opening of the 6 digit. On the Large Knob 6, the opening is smaller than on the Small Knob 6 date punch. Secondly, I have noticed that the contour of the top of the flag of the 7 digit can provide additional validation. On the Large Knob 6 date punch, note the sharp center point and the deep right valley on top of the flag of the 7. On the Small Knob 6 date punch, the contours are not as pronounced.
