Comments: The 1875 date presents variety collectors with a host of obverse die research opportunities. Kam Ahwash indicated that at least fifty pairs of dies were used for this year's mintage. The author's analysis has only catalogued a fraction of the potential repunched or misplaced dates. Additional work will be necessary to define all the obverse dies and to assess their rarity levels.
