Comments: During this die pairing, Obverse 3 is found in an early die state. It took considerable study to locate additional diagnostic points to prove that the above coin is an early die state example of the Ahwash 3 obverse. Within Liberty's body, there are additional die markers that provided the evidence. The first marker is a tiny die defect surrounded by several die lines located directly below the right armpit. The second die marker is a group of faint die polish lines in the crotch area between Liberty's legs. This latter diagnostics is only visible on higher grade AU and Mint State examples.

During the initial Variety 104 die state, Reverse C exhibits a complete wreath with well device devices. The Small S is positioned left and high aiding with attributing this reverse die.
