Comments: The origin of the 1841 No Drapery Proof variety has seen alternate opinions offered in the last
25 years. Kam Ahwash suggested a heavy polishing of the obverse die produced the no drapery variety. Alternately,
John McCloskey has offered a theory that the 1841 No Drapery hub was transitional in nature and acted as an
evaluation tool for the final With Drapery hub design. See the detailed discussions within Variety 101.
