Comments: A third die marriage with Obverse 1 has been identified by noted die variety specialist, Jim Smith. Obverse 1 is paired with a reverse die that exhibits die lines between AM(ER)ICA and the rim. A review of 1845 dimes in my reference collection produced no examples with these die lines. Therefore I have designated this third reverse as Reverse I in order to not disturb the existing 1845 obverse and reverse die nomenclature. Initial rarity estimate is set at R5 until more examples are located.

The upper plate coin was located in a Connecticut coin shop during June 2019.
