Obverse 4: High Date, Downward Slope
Reverse E: Medium O, [mm C,H]

Obverse 4 Reverse E
Obverse Diagnostic Point(s) Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: Obverse 4 develops a faint die crack from Star 8 through cap and then through Stars 9, 10, 11, 12 and exiting to the rim between Stars 12 and 13. Another faint crack is seen from rim to Liberty's head.
1850 Medium O dimes were struck from a single die pair and are more difficult to locate than their Large O counterparts. In Mint State grades, I believe the Medium O variety is the most difficult to locate among the three mintmark sizes.
