Comments: 1850 dimes present numerous die pairings to be investigated. The research to date is considerable but I still believe that additional die pairing are awaiting to be discovered. This date does not present the collector with any major varieties. The die states of Obverse 8 (Weak Stars 1 through 6) are interesting but available with some searching. The reverse characteristics of Varieties 104 and 106 suggest that some 1849 dimes may have been struck in 1850. The variety rarity estimates are my best effort considering the limited exposure to the quantity of die pairings presented thus far. Further research will be necessary to better assess the true rarity of date position and die marriage varieties. Value As A Date (Coin World Trends/CoinValues
