Comments: Obverse 3 has a lightly punched date with an open 5 digit. A reverse die crack from the lower left wreath through left stem end to rim matches the same die crack position found on 1849 Reverse B. Surprisingly, this plate coin appears to exhibit an earlier die state reverse die crack than the example for 1849 Reverse (B). This would suggest that some 1849 dimes could have been struck in 1850 from a left over obverse die. More research will be needed on this finding.
