1850

Variety 110a

 Obverse 8.2: Weak Stars 1 Through 6

Reverse H: Faint Traces of Doubling

Obverse 8.2                                              Reverse H

Comments: The obverse device details on Obverse 8 have been removed through a polishing or lapping. It is not known why these devices would be lapped, as there were no signs of die rust or other abnormal conditions during examples from the early die state. Stars 1 through 6 are slightly weaker than the others stars.

On Reverse H, the die lines behind (AME)RICA are no longer visible. The die doubling is difficult to photograph on this specimen, but remains detectable.
