Comments: This die pair will become clashed before major die degradation takes place. In this late die state, Obverse 1 shows considerable die wear and heavy metal flow lines between the rim and all the letters in UNITED STATES. Reverse A exhibits similar wear with all areas between the rim and the wreath being filled with heavy metal flow lines. On the plate coin above, the reverse denticles from 9:00 through 2:00 are nearly eliminated.
