Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)                 Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: Obverse 5 is paired with Reverse G, which has a Small S mintmark that is positioned far left.

A comparison with the reverse dies of 1889 shows no mintmark position commonality with Reverse G. This is a straightforward 1890-S variety and reverse die pairing to identify due to the mintmark positioned far left.

1890 San Francisco dimes with either a Small S mintmark positioned left (Varieties 108 and 108a) or centered (Varieties 105 and 118) are scarce and will take considerable searching to locate. The Small S mintmark varieties warrant a premium when located.
