Comments: This latest 1840 No Drapery variety was identified during July 2007 by the author from a www.seatedvarieties.com message board posting by Jason Feldman. Obverse 8 is easily diagnosed by a boldly repunched Star 13 and fragments of repunching about Star 3. Star 9 also exhibits faint repunching. Star 7 is positioned high with respect to Liberty's face.

Interestingly, the author found images of the same variety in his Seated dime database for another dime apparently sent for evaluation during August 2004. Due to workload and timing, the dime was never properly attributed else Variety 108 would have been discovered and listed in 2004.
