Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: The final 1840 No Drapery variety was first identified during July 2007 by the author from a www.seatedvarieties.com message board posting by Jason Feldman. Obverse 8 is easily diagnosed by a boldly repunched Star 13 along with minor repunching on Stars 7 and 10. The date punch is heavy and much closer to the base than the denticles.

Rick DeSanctis offered the PCGS EF40 example to the author during early 2015 for additional study since the repunching on Stars 7 and 10 (as extracted from Rick's example) were no specified in an earlier description.
