Comments: Obverse 2 is in an early die state with a die crack starting at the 1 digit and moving right through the bottoms of the 85 digits, up through the 4 digit and across the stem and top point of the right arrow. In a later die state, specimens from Obverse 2 become a rare and highly desireable collectable variety due to a massive die crack that nearly encircles the obverse. See Variety 102.

During this early die state, Obverse 2 is paired with Reverse E. There is considerable weakness in the wreath leaves on Reverse E while the upper section of the Large O mintmark is stronger in appearance than the bottom section.
