Comments: The Variety 112 dies are polished with obvious die lines throughout the obverse and reverses. Obverse 12 can be diagnosed by date placement. The date punch is level with Denticle Ruler measurement 0B1. Both feet of the 1 digit are thin. There are significant die polish line through STATES and into Liberty.

Reverse L is polished with weakness in the wreath area immediately to the left of the corn ear.

Jeff Bowers first reporting this variety during June 2013 after his inspection of the previously known obverse dies in the web-book failed to match his mint state dime. Though his dime had a date placement of DR 0B1, there were no horizontal die lines through the lower shield that are characteristic of the Variety 101 Obverse 1 proof and business strike die. However the date position between Obverse 12 and Obverse 1 are quite similar as shown below. Careful inspection is required to separate the two different obverse dies. Note how the Obverse 12 date punch is slightly lower and more level than that of Obverse 1.
