Comments: A rare date placement variety, per the Ahwash encyclopedia, that I have been unable to locate during the past 15 years. At first, I thought that A-1 might be a business example of the proof Obverse 1 and Reverse A die pair. However, a very close examination of the Ahwash obverse photography for A-1 reveals that the date placement is slightly more right (DR 1R vs DR 1C) than the proof obverse die date placement. I would appreciate information from any reader who believes that they have this variety.
