Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: The date punch position on Obverse 7 is very similar to that of Obverse 6. Both obverse dies have high level dates, but the date punch on Obverse 7 is slightly more left than Obverse 6. If a specialist can locate high grade examples of both date position varieties, that person will notice that the date on Obverse 7 has a slight downward slope when compared to Obverse 6. I have know about the Obverse 7 variety for several years, but was concerned with listing it until several more examples were located to confirm its existence. During November 2005, Chris Majtyka sent me a VF30 example of Obverse 7. His coin provided enough evidence to justify adding the Variety 107 listing to the web-book. The Variety 107 plate coin images are old scans of a JJ Teaparty dime that were in my digital archives.
