Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: This obverse comes reasonably well struck for 1873 Closed 3 coinage.

Ahwash states that a second obverse die (Obverse 2) was also used to strike a portion of 1873 No Arrows proof coinage. After many years of searching for a proof example from Obverse 2 and researching five years of Heritage auction archives listings, I have concluded that Obverse 2 was not employed for proof coinage. Therefore, I have removed the proof listing for Obverse 2 from the web-book leaving Obverse 1 as the only obverse die used for proof coinage.
