Obverse 2                                              Reverse B

Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: The date appears to slope upward but it is level with the base. There are two parallel die scratches crossing through shield lines 6 and 7. Obverse 2 is almost always seen weakly struck.

Ahwash states that Obverse 2 was also used to strike a portion of 1873 No Arrows proof coinage. After many years of searching for a proof example from Obverse 2 and researching five years of Heritage auction archives listings, I have concluded that Obverse 2 was not employed for proof coinage. Therefore, I have removed the proof listing for Obverse 2 from the web-book.
