Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: Obverse 3 has several diagnostic points that simplify identification. The right foot on the 1 digit is broken, suggesting that the date punched degraded and chipped during the preparation of the 1878 dies. There are two obvious die scratches on this obverse. The first is a long arc type scratch in the lower gown directly above the pendant. A second curving die line is visible on the right knee.

Plate Coin: G. Fortin Collection, AU55
