Obverse 5: Medium Date, Slight Upward Slope, Die Defect On Left Forearm

Reverse E: Die Crack In Lower Wreath

Obverse 5                                                Reverse E

Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: The date punch on Obverse 5 has a slight upward slope. The 18 digits appear to be smaller than the 78 digits as the date punch is heavier on the right side than left side. There is a triangular shaped defect on Liberty's left forearm. A faint die crack is visible through the bottom of the 187 digits, then proceeds upwards through the lower loop of the 8 digit. The die crack then proceeds through the base and Liberty's foot, terminating at AMERIC(A). On Reverse E, there is a faint die crack in the lower wreath.

Plate Coin: G. Fortin Collection, PCGS MS64
