Comments: The 1889 Doubled Die Reverse #3 (Reverse F) can be easily identified by strong doubling on (O)NE and on the left upright of O(N)E. See the illistrations above. There is also strong doubling on the outer wheat stalk and on the left side of the lower maple leaves along with doubling of the veins within the maple leaves. There is no die clashing on Reverse F when paired with Obverse 22.

Obverse 22 was identified by Stack's during the cataloguing of the Lemus Collection during October 2005. Both the 1 and 9 digits show obvious repunching. Examples of Obverse 22 paired with Reverse F come well struck with nice full heads. Reverse F will be paired with a second obverse die which has been previously designated as Obverse 6. When paired with Obverse 6, Reverse F shows die clashing around DIM(E).
