Comments: Locating an example of Variety 102 (Ahwash 1) has been surprisingly challenging. During the Seated dime web-book release in 2004, I lacked a plate coin for the variety and muled obverse and reverse images from Variety 101 and Variety 104 to illustrate. Fast forward to 2016 with Scott Grieb offerings his strictly original VF30 example at the April Central States show. Locating certain varieties can take a decade or more.
