Comments: All 1857 dimes come with a defective 1 digit in the date.  The extra metal under the flag of the 1 is considered 
to be a date punch defect and not repunching. The 8 digit in the date also has two defects or notches on the left and right 
hand sides of the lower loop.  With a mintage in excessive of 5 million pieces, I would expect more obverse dies to be identified.
