Comments: On 1882 proof strikes, date repunching is visible under the base of the 2 digit. There is a defect to the right of the upper ball of the 2. This defect is common on many 1882 obverse die varieties and may have been located on the punch. The upper loop of 2 digit appears normal on Obverse 1.
