Comments: In a later die state, Obverse 2 has die cracks from the left base to the rim and from Liberty's foot through (A)MERICA and to the rim.

In the Variety 103 die state, Reverse C is well known as a doubled reverse die due to doubling on (ON)E and on the lower left maple leaf edge within the wreath. After striking considerable coinage, the doubling is weak and barely noticeable on (ON)E. Instead, the reverse die exhibits significant cracking especially in the middle and upper left wreath. Please see the reverse illustration above with die crack mapping.

This late die state example was first published by Sean Shaughnessy on the LSCC message board in October 2010.
