Reverse E.2: Late Die State, Cracked Die, [mm C,H]
Obverse 4 Reverse E.2
Obverse Diagnostic Point(s) Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)
Comments: Both Obverse 4 and Reverse E have degraded in this die state. The misplaced top of an 8 digit can still be seen in the lower gown area directly right of the pendant. The misplaced top loop of the 8 is above the final 8 in the date.
On Reverse E, the repunching on the Medium S mintmark is effaced. The reverse die is well worn down or maybe polished as the design elements are weak. There are numerous die cracks in the wreath to rim. The die crack from 7:30 to 8:30 has the potential to form a cud. The plate coin is the latest die state example seen.
