Comments: Reverse A is paired with Obverse 2, which is now in a late die state. Heavy metal flow lines connect the obverse stars to the rim with the denticles being nearly effaced. Reverse A exhibits excessive die wear and die cracks with multiple die cracks between the rim, legend and wreath.

During the initial months of 1841, the New Orleans mint will pair Reverse A with an 1841 With Drapery obverse die to create the 1841 Large O Closed Bud Reverse transitional variety
